Our historical bassoons are replicas of an instrument by Savary, made in 1823, out of the collection of William Waterhouse.
Savary Jean Nicholas (1786–1853) was a Parisian instrument maker who dedicated himself entirely to manufacturing bassoons. Throughout his working period, he faithfully adhered to the classical bassoon ideal.
